After a week in which winter tried its best to make a last-minute appearance, bright sunshine greeted several thousand worshippers at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels April 1 where Passion Sunday celebrations marked the beginning of Holy Week. A wide array of ages and cultures --- reflecting the magnificent diversity of the Church found in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles --- participated in the liturgies that commemorated the last days of Christ, from his triumphant entry into Jerusalem to his death on the cross.
