St. John Vianney Church in Hacienda Heights will celebrate the parish’s Golden 50th anniversary with a Mass on Sept. 13 at 9 a.m.

Archbishop José H. Gomez will serve as the main celebrant. Msgr. Tim Nichols, present associates and many past associates will concelebrate at this special event.

In addition, the church will also offer a morning and evening Bible study program with a special focus on the Gospel of Luke.

Morning classes will take place every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon, beginning Sept. 16 at the O’Callaghan Center. Evening classes will take place every Tuesday from 7:30 p.m. to 9:10 p.m., beginning Sept. 15 in school building room 3. Participants are asked to arrive early on the first day for registration.

Deacon Manuel Valencia will introduce the class and lead a discussion on the first chapter of the Gospel. Valencia is a deacon at St. Rita’s Parish and a teaching team member at Mater Dolorosa Passionist Retreat Center in Sierra Madre.

A $20 donation for the year-long program is suggested.
