“ELEV8,” a new program aimed at helping teens elevate their self-esteem and avoid “risky behavior” was unveiled by the Right to Life League of Southern California at its annual Benefit Dinner & Gala held Oct. 13 at the Center at Cathedral Plaza.In announcing ELEV8, RTLL executive director Anne Hennessy described it as an “innovative, entertaining and educational teen integrity program.” The ELEV8 team is comprised of actors, singers, models, graphic designers, triathletes, event planners, musicians, comedians and other young professionals --- “all dedicated to helping today’s teens navigate through real issues and equipping them with the tools they need to avoid risky behaviors.”The ELEV8 curriculum, designed for high schools and classrooms across the nation, features a unique combination of digital and live interaction, developed as a means of adapting teen integrity principles into a variety of demographics. Rather than focus on dangers of adolescent experimentation, the program “emphasizes the significance of the individual, utilizing a message of hope and freedom to stress the importance of second chances."“ELEV8 provides young people with real, relevant and relatable messages of self-worth and redemption,” said Hennessy.The RTL Gala also included a talk by guest speaker Lila Rose, president of Live Action and a leading pro-life advocate. Rose recounted her personal stories and inspirational accounts witnessing corruption and illegal activity while conducting undercover investigations at Planned Parenthood.Archbishop José Gomez joined the RTLL for the evening to offer his blessings and support. RTLL president Kathie Lund concluded the evening urging guests to take action in support of the League’s mission and lend their support via the many avenues, programs and activities in which the League participates and/or sponsors.“As we work to raise funds to continue our mission, it remains critical that each of us takes a stand, to really get off the fence and put our words into action,” said Lund. “We realize it would not be possible for us to provide our services and programs without the generosity of our patrons and sponsors and we thank them all for their continued support.”The Right to Life League is a non-profit education and service organization dedicated to the support and protection of human life.
