On July 25, a Texas judge dismissed the last of the remaining charges against the undercover video investigators who allegedly exposed Planned Parenthood for trafficking fetal body parts.
In January, a Texas grand jury had indicted David Daleiden, 27, and Sandra Merritt, 63, on two charges. The first charge, a misdemeanor, was for attempting to buy human tissue, which was dropped by a Harris County judge last month, the Washington Times reports.
The second charge, a felony, was for tampering with governmental records, since Daleiden and Merritt used fake IDs during their investigation. District Judge Brock Thomas dismissed the tampering with government records charges at the request of the Harris County prosecutor’s office.
The undercover videos caused public outrage and resulted in the defunding of Planned Parenthood organizations in several states.
