Funeral Mass was celebrated July 9 at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach for Maureen Zak, known affectionately as “Mama Zak,” who was the mother of Msgr. Steven Zak, pastor of Incarnation Church, Glendale. She died peacefully at home on July 3; she was 88.
Mama Zak is survived by Msgr. Zak’s father, Eugene (“Papa Zak”); the couple would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this October. She is also survived by her 10 children, 28 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
