Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks recently began construction renovations on the campus baseball stadium and new aquatic center, with completion anticipated next January and March, respectively. In preparation for these projects, Notre Dame has completed construction on a 62-spot parking lot and a new maintenance building. The total estimated cost of the projects is $5.8 million.The projects are part of the school’s ongoing “Light the Way” capital campaign, which has already provided for the completion of the renovation of the school library (now the Stubblefield Library) and Brothers Residence (now Holy Cross Center). Elsewhere, Notre Dame seniors and twin brothers Connor and Rory Smith took second place this past July at the Third China Debate Championships in Nanjing, China. Members of a three-person team that included Tommy Choi from Harvard-Westlake, the twins attended a summer workshop at Claremont McKenna College to prepare for the international event.They competed for one week at the Nanjing Normal University Xianlin School. After eight preliminary rounds, Connor, Rory and Tommy qualified to the elimination rounds and made it to finals.
