Nativity School girls and Our Lady of Lourdes boys win CYO basketball championships

The girls’ basketball team at Nativity School (top) in Los Angeles won the CYO Basketball Championship last month. Last month the boys’ basketball team at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Boyle Heights (bottom) won the CYO Basketball Championship.

Last month, the girls’ basketball team at Nativity School, Los Angeles, won the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Basketball Championship, defeating American Martyrs School, Manhattan Beach, in overtime. Our Lady of Lourdes School, Boyle Heights, defeated Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal School, Montebello, to win third place.

Also last month, the boys’ basketball team at Our Lady of Lourdes defeated American Martyrs to win the CYO Basketball Championship. St. Bede the Venerable, La Cañada Flintridge, came in third place, defeating Maria Regina, Gardena.

Catholic Youth Organization of Los Angeles manages and operates interscholastic sports for 170 Catholic elementary schools throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The nonprofit is an operating unit of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles Inc.
