Mater Dolorosa Passionist Retreat Center unveiled a dramatic lifesized sculpture of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane. The statue, nestled among a grove of 90-year-old olive trees in the upper foothills of Sierra Madre, was officially unveiled on Oct. 4 at 3 p.m.

That same day, a rededication ceremony took place for the outdoor Stations of the Cross.  The stations, which follow a winding quarter-mile path through woods, were recently renovated, marking the 50th anniversary of their construction. A reception followed the prayer ceremony.

Guests at the event included Auxiliary Bishop David G. O’Connell and the sculptor Christopher Slatoff.
