Archbishop Gomez will preside at a Mass offered on behalf of immigrants experiencing financial, legal or emotional difficulties. The annual Mass will take place at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on July 19 at 4 p.m.

In addition to praying for immigrants, the Office of Life, Justice and Peace will begin taking applicants to train as certified legal advisors. These individuals will become certified in order to serve immigrants wishing to stay in the U.S. under the proposed Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA) program.

Those interested in training as certified legal advisors must belong to a parish, speak English and have all necessary immigration documents. Many legal advisors will act as volunteers for the parishes, though some paid positions will be available.

The cathedral is located at 555 W Temple St., Los Angeles. For more information, please call Jaime Huerta at (213) 637-7560.
