In an effort to help end Islamophobia, several organizations in Long Beach co-hosted an event designed to encourage Muslims and non-Muslims to meet and engage in meaningful dialogue. Event participants learned more about their neighbors while handing out flowers and coaxing pedestrians near the event to stop and meet a Muslim. The Long Beach Area Peace Network, Military Families Speak Out and the South Coast Interfaith Council co-presented the Feb. 12 event.
