On April 29, Resurrection School in Boyle Heights held a school-wide celebration after their students showed the highest percentage of academic growth among eight Seton Blended Learning Schools, earning the school the National Academic Achievement recognition award.
The achievement makes Resurrection the first urban Catholic school to be recognized for its academic goals in its first year of implementing a blended learning program, a curriculum that integrates both traditional small group and teacher-led instruction with individualized computer-based lessons for a more tailored approach to education.
With the help of a $400,000 donation from various foundations, the school began this school year as a member of the Seton Blended Learning Network.
“It is our belief, that regardless of gender, income status or culture, the children of our communities deserve to be given opportunities to thrive and succeed in college and career,” says school principal Angelica Figueroa.
