A Memorial Mass was held Oct. 15 at Loyola High School in Los Angeles for Jesuit Father Peter F. Filice, 73, a former president of the school who died peacefully at El Camino Los Gatos Hospital on Oct. 1.Born in San Jose, he entered the Society of Jesus upon graduation from Bellarmine College Preparatory School in 1958. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1971 and professed final vows as a Jesuit in 1977. Father Filice served as president of Loyola High School from 1975-1981 and later ministered as superior of the Loyola Jesuit Community from 2006-2012. His Funeral Mass was celebrated in the Santa Clara Mission Church on the campus of Santa Clara University Oct. 7.
