The East San Gabriel Valley Coalition for the Homeless (ESGVCH) is seeking assistance in order to continue providing food, shelter and basic needs to the homeless. Cuts in government grants have made it difficult to properly assist the needy.

The nonprofit charitable organization works directly with the homeless of the community to improve their lives and regain housing. The organization provides two rental units for families in difficult financial situations. The temporary stay of 2 to 24 months allows the families to save resources and transition back into permanent housing.

During the winter, the organization provides nighttime shelter for the homeless, with up to 200 people taking advantage of the program every night. The more than 60 volunteers and 12 ESGVCH staff provide food, clothing, hygiene kits, soap and towels, along with the necessary security and supervision.
