The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops chose a new treasurer-elect of the conference, the chairmen-elect of six committees, and new members of the board of Catholic Relief Services during the bishops’ annual fall General Assembly, Nov. 16-19 in Baltimore.

Cincinnati Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr is the treasurer-elect. Archbishop José H. Gomez is the chairman-elect of the Committee on Migration. He has served as chairman of the committee in the past.

Youngstown Bishop George V. Murry, S.J., is chairman-elect of the Committee on Catholic Education; Indianapolis Archbishop Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., is chairman-elect of the Committee on Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocations; and Atlanta Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory is the chairman-elect of the Committee on Divine Worship.

Bishop Frank J. Dewane of Venice, Florida, is chairman-elect of the Committee on Domestic Justice and Human Development; and Philadelphia Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, OFM Cap, is chairman-elect of the Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life.

Each bishop elected will serve for one year as secretary-elect or chairman-elect before beginning a three-year term.
