The auxiliary members of the Little Sister of the Poor will host their 19th annual fundraising event to help with the religious order’s operating costs and special needs. To date, the auxiliary members have raised a combined total of nearly $4 million for the sisters.
The Angels of Mercy Gala will take place on Sept. 24 at the Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes Estates. At the event, four founding members will be honored for their leadership and hard work. The honorees include Carole LaCaze, Libby Cigliano, Regina Liembach and Josephine Nizetich. These volunteers also served as valued advisory board members.
More than 200 women — businesswomen, homemakers and retirees — volunteer as auxiliary members. Cigliano, auxiliary president, says volunteering for the auxiliary is incredibly rewarding. “I know I am accomplishing something worthwhile and giving back at the same time.”
